1st XI 2 Kings 3
Scorer: Eoin O'Grady (2)

Hello fans,

The lads travelled down to south west London to face Kings
who sneaked a 4-3 win at fortress Loyola earlier in the
campaign. Winning with a helping hand and a hatrick of
penalties. Although I didn't play, I could feel the daggers
across the dressing room directed at Matty O, what
happened...?

We lined up 1-4-1-3-2, right back Porter, centre backs with
one knee between them Eoin/Matthew O, left back some sp*rs
s*um, Liam in his new CDM position sitting in front of the
back four, who has been reminding me of a young Hayden
Mullins, big praise, don't let it go to your head, keep up
the good work. In front of Hayden, Baby O'Grady,  Sean
McDermott, Magic, upfront Ren & Steve English after his
goal scoring exploits last time out, and myself in goal.

Ren's record breaking run continued as he lost the coin
toss, not one this season, what a record. We tried to pick
our heads after this early set back but we couldn't as we
fell behind. A corner into the box was headed down with the
ball ending up in the back of the net after a slight
scramble. Eoin kindly let me know on the way home that the
last touch came off his toe while trying to block the shot.
The dubious goal committee are meeting on Thursday,
potentially first goal of the season for Eoin, fingers
cross mate.

That was the last and only chance Kings had of the half, we
took full control of the game, the opposition didn't get
close to the ball, dare I say it, it was a little
embarrassing for them.

The equaliser came quickly after the Kings goal, Magic, Ren
and Sean played some neat one touch football, making good
use of our flying full backs. The switch of play, played in
Baby O'Grady on the left hand side, with a King's player
hot on his toes , B O'G cut in on his favoured right foot
and let fly with a effort that dipped under the cross bar,
great goal, the lads were buzzing.

We fashioned a few more chances before half time, Ren
nearly getting on the end of a great ball into the box by
Callum.

Half time probably came at the wrong time, typical. We
didn't get going in the second half. To be fair Kings
turned up the heat and we couldn't keep hold of the ball.
Kings were helped by their tall striker, helping them keep
the ball, winning the majority of their long balls.

We fell behind after a long throw into the box was flicked
on, the ball kindly ricocheted into the path of the
grateful Kings player who kept his cool to lift the ball
into the net, 2-1. Five mins later 3-1, Kings had too much
time out on the wing to pick out a free man who headed the
ball back where it came from and into the net.

We were desperate, Dave looked to the bench for
inspiration, one foot Jake or one ankle Conor, tough
choice. On came the pair of sick notes, to be fair, Conor
helped turn the tide of the game making a great save from
the Kings player after I could only help a looping effort
onto the bar, we went up the other end of the pitch, 'give
it to Baby O'Grady' the crowd screamed (Dave).

In a similar position but on the opposite corner of the
box. The oppo showed B O'Grady onto his weaker left foot,
foolish,  Baby O'Grady effortlessly curled the ball into
the top bins, 3-2.

We pressed for the equaliser, Sean McDermott nearly scoring
a third screamer with the keeper helping it behind, Jake
twice coming close, first chance glancing a drilled cross
just wide and again coming close after nicking the ball off
the Kings CB, but showed too much of the ball with the
Kings player recovering well.

3-2 full time, unlucky, lots of positives, two good goals,
we've been on a good run, unfortunately we struggled with
the combination of the oppos longball and lanky striker.

Bring on Saturday.

Man - Baby O'Grady two great goals.
Muppet - Conor for throwing a hilarious strop after getting
substituted, kicking over a bin, only to then pick it back
up and politely place the rubbish back inside, proper
muppet, ha.
