1st XI 2 Kings 0

Scorers: Conor OG, Renaldo

Man of Match: Jack Barton

Muppet : Steve English

Coming off of a decent performance but
nonetheless defeat against top of the league
Southgate, we were looking for a big 3 points
on Saturday at home vs Kings. Fortunately, we
got it.

After a warm up involving some controversial
passive stretching (is it good before a game
or not!?) we lined up in our 4-3-3 formation
with Ryan in goal, a back four of Dan, Pete,
Matt and Jack, midfield trio Tom, Ren and
Alex, with Conor playing his false 9 role and
Jason and Jordan on the wings.

The first half was an even game. Both teams
were battling hard for possession and both
missed good one on one opportunities. 0-0 at
the break though.

In the second half we stepped up a level and
started to take more control, with Tom doing
an effective man marking job on the oppo's
most lively player and Conor finding more
space up front. Steve and Kane came on and
caused problems in the wide areas too. The
first goal came after a brilliant pass from
Ren in the middle of the oppo's half split
their defence open and Conor ran onto it to
strike first time into the net. 1-0! Not long
after it was 2, with the same combo for us.
Conor whipped a corner in and Ren powered
home a header from inside the six yard box.

Even though Ryan had to pull off a great save
from a free kick, we saw the game out well
not giving Kings any space for chances. There
was still time before the end however for
Matt to perform a Tom Daley-esque fall having
been tapped on the back by their striker.
Man of the match went to Jack for another
solid performance, along with the rest of the
defence. The honourable muppet award was
picked up by Steve.

Onto the next one!

Alex
